(fr) Créée sur du papier brun, cette peinture captivante capture l’énergie vibrante du quartier de Swiss Cottage. Collée avec de la colle PVA pour bois, elle présente une texture riche et profonde, et est finie avec une couche de vernis pour bois afin d’améliorer son attrait visuel et sa durabilité. L’œuvre reflète mon enfance passée au Swiss Cottage open space, où j’ai participé à un groupe de jeu après que notre ancien bâtiment à Belsize Park a été temporairement fermé à cause de l’amiante, et avant cela, mes expériences autour du marché de Swiss Cottage. Créée pendant une période de réflexion à la suite du décès de la reine Élisabeth II, cette œuvre d’art soulève des questions importantes sur le rôle de l’art communautaire dans nos vies.

(en) Created on brown paper, this captivating painting captures the vibrant energy of the Swiss Cottage neighbourhood. Glued with PVA wood glue, it has a deep, rich texture and is finished with a coat of wood varnish to enhance its visual appeal and durability. The work reflects my childhood spent at Swiss Cottage open space, where I participated in a playgroup after our old building in Belsize Park was temporarily closed due to asbestos, and before that, my experiences around the Swiss Cottage market. Created during a period of reflection following the death of Queen Elizabeth II, this artwork raises important questions about the role of community art in our lives.

(fr) Mon exploration d’une impression de chariot de magasinage en niveaux de gris m’a amené à créer une intervention dans l’espace public sur le mur du Wendling Estate à Londres, transformant un objet de la classe ouvrière en quelque chose d’important. La consultation de la communauté a été au cœur de ce projet. Elle a permis de s’assurer de l’engagement et du soutien des résidents, ce qui a contribué à instaurer une culture de coopération entre eux. Grâce à l’engagement social et au consentement de la communauté, ce projet reflétait le pouvoir de l’art de favoriser les liens et la représentation dans les espaces marginalisés. La même gravure a ensuite été retrouvée à Paris, renforçant l’expérience partagée dans les quartiers populaires.

(en) My exploration of a greyscale shopping trolley print led me to create an intervention in public space on the wall of the Wendling Estate in London, transforming a working-class object into something of significance. Central to this project was community consultation, ensuring that residents were engaged and supportive, which helped build a culture of cooperation among them. Through social engagement and community consent, this project reflected the power of art to foster connection and representation in marginalised spaces. The same print was later found in Paris, reinforcing the shared experience across working-class neighbourhoods.

(fr) Ce projet vise à créer un processus artistique collaboratif en Amazonie brésilienne, où un groupe diversifié d’artistes, d’activistes et de locaux travailleront ensemble pour produire une série de cinq peintures murales dans une communauté de Manaus. Lancé au cours d’une longue traversée en ferry au cœur de l’Amazonie, le projet vise non seulement à embellir les espaces, mais aussi à responsabiliser les communautés locales en leur permettant de raconter leur propre histoire par le biais de la peinture. Les peintures murales seront réalisées dans le cadre d’ateliers avec les habitants, mêlant pratiques artistiques et récits locaux.

(en) This project seeks to create a collaborative artistic process in the Brazilian Amazon, where a diverse group of artists, activists, and locals will work together to produce a series of five murals in a community in Manaus. Initiated during a long ferry ride into the heart of the Amazon, the project aims not only to beautify spaces but also to empower local communities by allowing them to tell their own stories through painting. The murals will be developed through workshops with residents, blending artistic practices with local narratives.
